JG Home Tech (ABN 95 858 214 050) is committed to providing quality products and excellent customer service. This Return & Refund Policy outlines your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and our returns process.

Your Consumer Rights

Under Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

We are not required to provide a refund or replacement if you simply change your mind.

However, you can choose a refund or exchange if an item has a major problem. This is when the item:

  • Has a problem that would have stopped someone from buying the item if they had known about it
  • Is unsafe
  • Is significantly different from the sample or description
  • Doesn't do what we said it would, or what you asked for and can't be easily fixed

Alternatively, you can choose to keep the item and we will compensate you for any drop in value.

If the problem is not major, we will repair the item within a reasonable time. If it is not repaired in a reasonable time, you can choose a refund or replacement.

Please keep your proof of purchase (e.g., your receipt or order confirmation email).

Change of Mind Returns

While we are not legally required to accept change of mind returns, we offer a 14-day change of mind return policy as a goodwill gesture, subject to the following conditions:

  • Items must be returned within 14 days of delivery
  • Items must be unused, in original packaging, and in resaleable condition
  • All accessories, manuals, and components must be included
  • You are responsible for return shipping costs for change of mind returns
  • A restocking fee of 10% may apply

Some items cannot be returned for change of mind, including:

  • Items that have been opened, used, or installed
  • Items damaged through misuse or negligence
  • Clearance or sale items marked as non-returnable

How to Request a Return or Refund

To request a return, refund, or exchange:

  1. Contact us at support@jghometech.com or call 0477 841 583 within 14 days of receiving your order
  2. Provide details including your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for the return
  3. Receive approval - We will provide a Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) number and return instructions
  4. Pack securely - Package the item(s) safely with all original accessories and documentation
  5. Ship to us - Send to the address provided with your RMA (keep your tracking number)
  6. Refund processed - Once we receive and inspect the returned item(s), refunds are processed within 5-7 business days to your original payment method

Order Cancellation

You may cancel your order before it has been dispatched. To cancel:

  • Contact us immediately at support@jghometech.com or call 0477 841 583
  • Provide your order number and request cancellation
  • If your order has not yet been dispatched, we will cancel it and process a full refund
  • If your order has already been dispatched, you will need to follow the standard returns process once you receive it

Damaged or Faulty Items

If you receive a damaged or faulty item:

  • Contact us within 7 days of receiving the item
  • Provide photos of the damage and packaging
  • We will arrange for a replacement or refund at no additional cost to you
  • Return shipping for faulty/damaged items is covered by JG Home Tech

Warranty Information

All products come with manufacturer warranty in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Typical warranty periods:

  • Security Cameras: 2 years
  • Video Doorbells: 2 years
  • Robot Vacuums: 1-2 years (varies by model)
  • Smart Locks: 2 years
  • Smart Scales: 1 year

Warranty claims should be directed to us in the first instance. We will liaise with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Refund Method

Refunds will be processed to your original payment method:

  • Credit/Debit Card: 5-10 business days for funds to appear
  • PayPal: 3-5 business days
  • Afterpay/Zip: Processed according to their terms

We will notify you by email once your refund has been processed.
